Charlottesville Ballet is a professional ballet company, dance academy, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 2007, Charlottesville Ballet is the only full-time professional dance company in the Charlottesville area.
Mission: To be a new voice in the ballet world-- enhancing the art of dance by promoting health and well-being, providing access to the community through dance education, and celebrating diversity through innovative performance.
Charlottesville Ballet’s unique company culture of dancer health and well-being has brought extremely talented artists to the organization, fueling an expansion in its educational capacity and role in the community. In July 2011, Charlottesville Ballet launched its new ballet training school, Charlottesville Ballet Academy—the only nonprofit school of dance in the area. Now with over 70 students, the Academy furthers the company’s mission by training new generations of healthy dancers, dance aficionados, and patrons of the arts.
